The State of M&A
In the first half of 2007, mergers and acquisitions were on track to top 2006's record levels. By the end of the year, many predicted that M&A activity would grind to a near halt. Whether M&A transactions will in fact continue at a healthy pace depends on a number of factors that will play out over the next several quarters.
