CIT Global Employee Volunteer Month

Our sixth annual Global Employee Volunteer Month (GEVM) officially wrapped up on June 3. Working together, we reached the "Go for Six" goals we set for 2011 of GEVM. This year,

• More than 1,000 employees volunteered
• 6 countries represented CIT in their community
• 18 offices hosted 128 projects
• 12 members of our Executive Management Committee participated
• Over 6,000 hours of community service were given back globally

Since 2005, we have contributed more than 22,000 hours of volunteer time to work with community organizations during GEVM.
Recently completed projects include:

• Colleagues in China helped create audio books for the blind at Beijing's first library for the blind;
• In Tijuana, Mexico employees participated in a 24-hour home build through a local organization that provides affordable homes to needy families;
• Employees in Danville, Jacksonville, Livingston and Utah constructed homes with Habitat for Humanity;
• Colleagues in Canada, Charlotte, Chicago, Sunrise, Jacksonville, Mt. Laurel, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, DC worked with their local food banks and soup kitchens to sort and serve food to the needy;
• In Dublin, employees helped beautify their towns with gardening projects at the Dublin City Refuge and Blackrock Hospice;
• Colleagues in Ft. Lauderdale donated time and money to Sheridan House for a new volleyball court and an updated entranceway.

Our community involvement is as vital as the work we do helping our small business and middle market customers - and we provide our support throughout the entire year, not just during GEVM.
