Gregg H. Smith is Senior Managing Director and Group Head of CIT Investment Banking Services. He oversees a team of bankers focused on mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance transactions.

• Private equity
• Middle market investment banking 

Smith has advised clients in the United States and around the globe on many broad-based corporate finance and M&A assignments. His clients have included many of the leading corporate and private equity entities, including FIAT S.p.A., TIAA-CREF, Ingram Industries, Itochu, Arvin Meritor, Lear, Eagle Picher, Foster Wheeler, Citicorp Venture Capital and American Industrial Partners.

Before joining CIT, Smith was CEO of Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance LLC, the investment banking arm of Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Smith received his BS in Finance from Michigan State University and his MBA from the University of Michigan. He also served in the United States Marine Corps.
