Larry Derrett
Larry Derrett is a Managing Director of CIT Energy and is responsible for overseeing CIT’s efforts in the Oilfield Services and Exploration and Production sector.

Prior to joining CIT in September 2006, Derrett was a Senior Vice President with Mizuho Corporate Bank, where he was in charge of developing the bank’s presence in the Oilfield Services sector. Before joining Mizuho, Derrett was the founder and owner of HVAC Capital Corporation, a leasing company established to provide financing solutions to commercial and industrial companies acquiring equipment used to manage and reduce energy consumption. Previously, Derrett was Vice President in charge of the Structured Finance Group at Enron Energy Services, where he oversaw a team offering customized financing solutions to large industrial and commercial customers. Prior to joining Enron Energy Services, Derrett was Vice President of Financial Services at Coral Energy, with responsibilities that included providing traditional treasury services, creating structured derivatives, investing in oil and gas properties and overseeing alternative energy investments.
Derrett also served with CIBC as Managing Director of the bank’s midstream business in the United States. There he managed a team that covered the United States, developing relationships that substantially fueled the growth of CIBC’s U.S. energy business. His work resulted in numerous transactions, including pipeline project financings, acquisition financing, asset monetization and securitization. Before joining CIBC, Derrett was with InterFirst Bank in Houston, where he received his credit training and was involved in debt restructurings and E&P lending.
Derrett received a BBA from the University of Texas in Austin.
