Executive Vice President, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer
Fred Springer is Executive Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for CIT. He is responsible for enterprise-wide compliance reputational and risk management, CIT's Global Compliance and Fraud Prevention programs and working across businesses and disciplines to build a strong, compliant CIT.

Prior to joining CIT, Springer was Head of Compliance and Regulatory Relations at Lloyds Banking Group in North America where he instituted comprehensive compliance controls. He developed an expertise in compliance and risk management practices during his tenure as a Managing Director of Compliance and Regulatory Relations for the Americas at ABN AMRO Bank NV and the Royal Bank of Scotland. He built a compliance team and compliance risk management discipline at the firms to remediate AML and Sanctions compliance deficiencies.
Prior to Springer’s service at Lloyds and ABN AMRO/RBS, he worked at Citigroup for 22 years in various legal and compliance roles of increasing responsibility, culminating in his role as Deputy Director of Compliance and Associate General Counsel for Citi's international operations.
Springer has a BS/BA from Boston University, an MBA from New York University and a JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
